Accounting Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This leadership role is critical to maintaining the financial health of the company and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in accounting best practices, and capable of managing both people and processes effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop internal control policies, procedures, and financial reporting systems.
  • Coordinate and support audits, both internal and external.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Work closely with other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a managerial role.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
