About the role

HIA Lounges is recruiting for a Steward to join their 5-star team.

You are responsible to perform catering coordination, distribution of food, maintain food safety and collaborate with Chef on duty. Coordinate with catering services to ensure timely delivery of food items. Organize and arrange food inventory following the FIFO (First in, First out) basis

Specific responsibilities of the role include the following:

Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene practices as per policies and procedures.
Follow set SOPs by ensuring kitchen appliances and items are clean and well maintained.
Coordinate with catering services to ensure timely delivery of food items.
Organize and arrange food inventory following the FIFO (First in, First out) basis.
Assist Chefs in preparing mise-en-place for efficient kitchen operations
Maintain hygiene of kitchen utensils and other items required for food preparation.
Ensure that workspaces and all kitchen areas are cleaned as frequently as possible, paying specific attention to behind the counters and difficult to reach spaces.
Participate in setting up of buffets or as required by the immediate supervisor.
Communicate with the immediate supervisor to cater to any immediate requirements.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Completed High School Qualifications
With 2 years of job-related experience.
Good to have knowledge and understanding of the food safety & catering coordination.
Able to foster teamwork among team members.
Good communications skills – verbal and reading.
