Senior UX Writer
We’re seeking a Senior UX Writer (contractor, remote) to help us craft how travelers experience KAYAK through language. The role involves writing user-centered copy, supporting onboarding flows, making data-driven improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibility:
- Work mainly with our Product Marketing & UX teams
- Craft and optimize product copy, write thoughtful, traveler-first messaging across web, app, and email
- Support onboarding and education flows through tooltips, modals, and walkthrough copy
- Experiment and test by partnering with product marketing and UX research
- Collaborate across teams including Designers, PMs, Brand, and Localization teams to ensure messaging consistency
Requirements:
- 5+ years of proven experience in UX writing or product content design
- Native-level fluency in English
- Can adhere and align writing with an established brand tone of voice
- A portfolio that shows smart, user-centered copy across digital platforms
- Experience in travel, e-commerce, or data-rich products is a plus
- Strong systems thinker – you know how to scale messaging with documentation
- Comfortable working with data, A/B tests, and UX research insights and crafting easily-followed measurement tracking for results
- Clear communicator and natural collaborator
- Self-directed, remote-ready, and good with async workflows
- Bonus points if you’ve used Figma, Jira, Slack, a CMS, or localization tools
- Available for 10-20 hours per week with the ability to increase
