Chief Product Officer – Education – Tanzania

Our client is a revolutionary education technology company focused on combining innovative technology with educational content to empower learners and educators across Africa. Their mission is to create impactful learning experiences that drive measurable outcomes and transform education for the better. Due to business expansion, they are currently seeking a Chief Product Officer to effectively lead their product launch in Africa, based at their office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Job Description

Reporting to the CEO and COO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Product Leadership: Develop and own the product design vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with the organization’s mission to transform education in Tanzania and other African markets.

  • Identify long-term business opportunities in K-12 and higher education through research.

  • Product Development & Impact: Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, including ideation, prototyping, launching, creative development, and scaling of educational content.

  • Lead product designs that are user-friendly and consider content availability in multiple African languages.

  • Impact Measurement Indicators: Define and track KPIs and educational impact metrics such as student engagement, knowledge retention, and exam pass rates.

  • Collaborate effectively with C-suite and board executives to manage technical feasibility and vendor partnerships.

The Successful Applicant

You bring:

  • 15 years of proven experience in a Chief Product Officer role, preferably in Edutainment or media sectors covering education product programs.

  • A minimum of 3 years leading educational technology platforms in Africa (mandatory).

  • Previous experience working closely with media distribution channels in Africa is a plus.

  • An excellent track record of defining and executing product strategies with impactful educational outcomes.

  • Excellent fluency in English and Swahili.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and data-driven tools such as AI.

  • Must be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
