Job Description

  • Issue uniforms and linens to staff in accordance with hotel systems and procedures

  • Conduct inventory and monitor the movement of soiled, damaged, and fresh linens and uniforms

  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures

  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications

  • Ensure all uniforms and linens are clean and in good condition

  • Conduct quarterly inventory of room linens, F&B linens, and colleague uniforms

  • Conduct weekly inventory of laundry supplies and chemicals

  • Report faulty equipment and safety hazards to the manager and Engineering Department

  • Train employees on laundry procedures, including equipment use and safety standards

  • Verify laundry requests are fulfilled for each department as needed

  • Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, ironing, and drying machines

  • Inspect linens and towels for damage

  • Assist the manager with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees

  • Complete monthly production reports, payroll, and overtime documentation

  • Coordinate with suppliers and external contractors

  • Report any guest laundry discrepancies

  • Ensure the quality of all guest laundry meets hotel standards

  • Fulfill guest preferences and special requirements

  • Wash and press guest laundry, uniforms, executive laundry, and other items as required

  • Assist other colleagues in the laundry and uniform area as needed

  • Update the laundry tracker by entering delivered items and report discrepancies

  • Check delivery receipts and follow up on pending balances with suppliers

  • Coordinate with the uniform supplier for new orders and arrange uniform measurements for hotel departments

  • Receive outsourced laundry deliveries and report discrepancies

  • Follow all standard operating procedures and hotel standards

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in uniform and laundry operations

  • Knowledge of housekeeping operations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office

  • Knowledge of various laundry chemicals and spotting techniques

  • Experience with Birch Street, Opera, and Micros systems

  • Familiarity with laundry equipment including washers, dryers, pressing machines, and dry cleaning machines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure
